Mirage Glass for stained glass-work


Mirage Glass is run by Johan and Wolfe van Brussel who have been producing architectural and decorative stained glass to commission since 1978. Wolfe studied her craft at Wrexham College of Art (NEWI) in the Architectural Glass Department.

Recent commissions include a nine square metre screen for The Department of Trade and Industry in Bloomsbury, a three square metre panel for a day care centre in Whitchurch, Shropshire, a commemmorative panel for the new school at Tregynon, Powys and work for The Red Kite Centre in Llanwrtyd Wells.

Smaller scale work is gladly undertaken such as domestic windows, screens, mirrors and lampshades. Photographs and sketches are available to inspire your choice of design. A unique range glass gifts are on display in the workshop which includes boxes, mirrors, jewellery, window hangings and lampshades.

Regular exhibitors at craft fairs including Ludlow, and Erddig, Wolfe and Johan also exhibit their work at Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Cymru (The Welsh National Eisteddfod) and at Eisteddfod Rhwngwladol Llangollen (Llangollen International Eisteddfod)

Mirage Glass also supply tools and materials for creating stained glass work. These include quantities of lead, solder, foil, flux, patinas, glass globs and glass sheet. In addition they are able to organise weekend courses and welcome visitors to their workshop.

The workshop is open from 10 am to 5 pm weekdays and by appointment during weekends. It is advisable to check first if you a planning to visit.
