Back This survey shows that the telecentres cater for and are used by all members of the community. Of note are that all ages use the facilities and people from all types of employment background, they are becoming a valuable resource for the whole community thus fulfilling their objective to stimulate social as well as economic development.
Also of interest is that 80% of people lived within walking distance of the telecentres, showing the need for localised resources, only 5.7% were travelling over 5 miles.
Of those who took part in the survey, 28% were using the resources in an individual capacity, 28% for business purposes and the remainder for a community group activity.
