Dave Bond

Greetings, (Found you at last)

Don't know if any of you remember me or not I was with Antur Tanat Cain in the Summer of 91. With the skills I picked up as a result of the NVQ in Information Technology, (like knowing what a computer is), I went to University as a mature student and got a second class honours degree in Computer Science. I've had 3 jobs since graduating June 95 and have been programming in Visual Basic, C++, and now Delphi (a brilliant skill to gain and in great demand).

I work for a Danish company in Central London (up the road from the Nat West Tower). I started 6 weeks ago and work writing 95 and NT software for the communications industry . My main skill is the design of the GUI. They also pay very well.

I'm telling you this not to boast but to give hope to anyone struggling wondering why a floppy is hard or where the 'Any' key is they need to press. I would also like to give thanks to you all for the jump start you gave me.

I am also, in my limited spare time, writing a couple of Genealogy programs that will be released as shareware. I'll send you a Beta release of one soon. The first program is an electronic research log that will aid in keeping tracks of where you are up to and where the gaps are. The other is a program for converting Gedcom files into database files and then analysing them to find family links.

I've been working on them for over a year now but PEARL the research log is close to beta release. I need to get myself a web site together soon, if I ever get the time. My partner who I'm writing the Genealogy software for is at:
