The Oswestry and Welsh Border Craft Circle.

The Oswestry Borderlands is home to a growing number of craft-workers producing a range of high quality craft goods. The Oswestry and Welsh Border Craft Circle is a representative guild of craft-workers living and working within a 15 mile (24km) radius of the border town of Oswestry. This area covers parts of Shropshire and the new unitary authorities of Powys and Wrexham.

The Oswestry and Welsh Border Craft Circle was established to promote local crafts, exchange information and ideas, and ensure the ongoing quality of members work. The group organise local exhibitions, craft fairs and run a Christmas gift shop in Oswestry during November and December. In addition the group supports other local organisations and events such as The Oswestry Heritage Centre, Chirk Castle Country Fair and The Oswestry Agricultural Society Show.

Craft goods have a unique quality and make the ideal gift or souvenir. Although a number of individuals specialise in a given craft you will find that each individual adopts their own distinct style of work. Most of the members will undertake commissions to your own design specifications.. Commissioned work need not be expensive but will always be unique. Some members are happy to provide working demonstrations in their workshops and also run training sessions for those wishing to venture into crafts or simply pursue an interest.

Craft goods produced by members of the Circle can be seen and purchased at Oswestry Tourist Information Centre, Melverley Crafts and Llangedwyn Mill.
